10 Key Opportunities for Growth for ITSPs

There’s no denying that information technology service providers (ITSP) are in high demand, enjoying rising revenues and struggling to hire quickly enough to keep pace. Autotask’s Metrics That Matter report, a survey of 1,300 ITSPs conducted in tandem with research firm Design Tree Labs, confirmed the industry’s incredible momentum. While ITSPs are doing well, a closer look at the report’s findings highlights a number of ITSP growth opportunities, many of which were featured in a recent eWEEK slideshow. Here’s a look at some of growth opportunities for ITSPs:

  1. Growing Demand
    ITSPs must evolve quickly – after all, 65 percent of respondents said new client requests, followed by the need for new skills and geographic expansion, were the biggest demand drivers.
  2. Technician Value
    ITSPs ought to take advantage of technical expertise and ensure that their clients know it’s available. Knowledge and customer satisfaction ratings ranked as the top two measurements of technician value.
  3. Microsoft Windows XP End of Support
    ITSPs can build stronger client relationships by informing and educating clients about their options and opportunities within, and outside, the industry.
  4. Cloud Adoption
    ITSPs must embrace cloud technologies, as the industry disruption is undeniable: survey respondents cited it as the No. 1 technology that’s changing client expectations and driving growth and efficiency.
  5. Cloud Security
    ITSPs should seek out new security solutions to meet the challenge presented to businesses to secure their piece of the cloud and the technology infrastructure supporting business operations.
