Sales Engineer

Location: East Greenbush, NY
Status: Full-Time

Autotask Corporation is seeking highly motivated professional to join one of the fastest growing Software as a Service companies in the Northeast as a ales Engineer in our Sales department.

The candidate we are looking must have experience in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment to help take an innovative, dynamic and fast growing company to the next level.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Help to understand customer goals and critical business issues and position how the use of Autotask and 3rd party integrations will aid in addressing these areas.  
  • Be the hands-on, in-depth demo resource when we are in a complex sales situation.
  • Create and maintain demo data in Autotask, especially after each release to support our value proposition.
  • Train the sales team on new product enhancements as they become released from engineering
  • Run point, collecting info and technical answers for sales RFIs and RFQs on bigger deals
  • Be the technical liaison for sales to get answers and workarounds for questions sales representatives cannot answer
  • Gather and distribute technical information on competitors and how to beat them
  • Act as another set of hands for Professional services to call on for custom implementations.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have the following skills and experience:

Minimum of 3 years of successful field sales experience.

  • Knowledge of Internet technologies and understanding of the ASP business model.
  • Knowledge of the IT Professional Services marketplace required, no exceptions
  • Knowledge of MSP’s, CRM, or ERP markets is desirable.
  • Experience selling on demand, web hosted software applications is desirable.
  • The candidate should also be a motivated, self-starter excited by new technologies, and excel in everything that they undertake.
  • Experience determining customer requirements and creating functional specifications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Pro-active problem solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a technology-based start up environment.
  • Result oriented high-energy person with a can do attitude.

Education Requirements:
BA/BS in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
