The five panelists Wednesday addressed everything from the obstacles hindering IoT adoption to the need for an updated broadband plan to how small and midsize channel partners can work with cities around IoT. The panel was moderated by David Logsdon, senior director of public policy for Downers Grove, Ill.-based CompTIA.

According to Canalys, global shipments of hybrid devices rose by almost 200 percent in 2015 and are set to accelerate further in 2016 and 2017 as business migration to the touch-friendly Windows 10 platform begins in earnest. Hybrids may offer solution providers an easy win in projects where users need the functionality of a tablet combined with the productivity of a notebook.
